Residential

This home was designed for a young client – a designer herself with a creative flair. She was looking for a home that emanated warmth, a space with a luxurious and youthful feel without any artificial touches.
The home serves as a gateway into the client’s memories and experiences. With a combination of vintage tones and modern accents, the space exudes a warm and homely atmosphere. A biscuit-themed colour palette with touches of sage green plays into the subtle theme, enhancing the cosy feel of the space.

It's All In The Details

The highlight of the home are the arches, a running theme throughout the space. These arches were added to create a "looking through" concept, resonating with the client's desire for a space reflecting her character. The recurring arches through the housework to add a personal touch, creating a feeling of "archways into the soul", while also fostering a warm and fluid space, without any harsh lines. In the guest bedroom, the client's furniture which has been passed down through generations was repurposed, and the room was designed around these pieces. The furniture was carefully mixed and matched to bring out a homely feel in the space.

The kitchen, bar, and living area form a balanced trio, each with its own unique details. The bar features eclectic wallpaper personally handpicked to stand out. While this colour scheme was a departure from the rest of the house, it adds an energetic pop of bold colour. The semi-open kitchen has calm sage green tones, while the living room has a neutral palette. Marble flooring runs through the house, with oak wood used as finishing touches, with white and grey finishes on the walls.

With this home being a blend of multiple styles, it required immense attention to detail to ensure a cohesive result. Balancing out different styles, from the eclectic bar to the neutral living area was key to creating a warm space like this one.
